A Look Back at 2018

As the sunsets in 2018, I look back at the year that has been. It was a slow start and picked up momentum throughout the year, especially towards the end.

At the start of the year, I was still feeling I was on the starting blocks, doing mainly Cosplay oriented shoots, which is still a big part of what I have done throughout 2018. Having had almost booked out weekends at some of the big Pop Culture conventions in Queensland, with Gold Coast Supanova, Brisbane Oz ComicCon and Brisbane Supanova.

However, as the year progressed, I started branching out to shooting boudoir, portraits, swimwear, couples and the occasional hybrid of cosplay/boudoir and cosplay/swimsuit shoots.

Along the way, I got to shot with some incredibly talented cosplayers, not only from Brisbane, but interstate ones as well.

Towards the end of the year, I took on a very challenging shoot, which was a male nude shoot. As it turned out, it wasn’t only breaking new ground for myself as a photographer, it was also a shoot that gave the guy, himself more body confidence. Which is where I was inspired to tackle the Body Confidence issue in 2019.

Here are just a few of my favourite shots and edits from 2018 (in no particular order). There were so many amazing shots taken.
